Failsworth Neighbourhood Message to Parents and Guardians
As we approach another Friday evening, Failsworth Neighbourhood Officers would like to ask for the support of parents and guardians in helping to keep our community safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Over recent weeks we have received reports of groups of young people gathering in parts of Failsworth and engaging in anti-social behaviour, including causing nuisance to residents, intimidating behaviour and the setting off of fireworks.
Whilst the vast majority of young people are respectful and well-behaved, a small minority can have a significant impact on local communities. We are asking parents and carers to please be aware of where their children are, who they are with and what they are doing, particularly during the evening hours.
Neighbourhood officers will be conducting patrols across the area on Friday night and will take appropriate action where anti-social behaviour is identified. Where necessary, officers may contact parents and guardians and arrange for young people to be collected and taken home.
We know that preventing anti-social behaviour is most effective when families, communities and local agencies work together. A simple conversation at home about making good decisions, respecting others and staying safe can make a real difference. Thank you to everyone who continues to support us by reporting concerns and providing information. Your assistance helps us target patrols and address issues before they escalate.
If you witness anti-social behaviour, please report it via 101 or through the GMP website. Always call 999 in an emergency or if a crime is taking place.
Thank you for your continued support. | ||
